Each time I go through the images I have from animals I notice this portrait of a female mallard duck. I think it follows every rule on taking good portraits.
- slightly bend down head pose
- focus on the eyes
- perfect depth of field
- uncluttered background
- appealing colors
It was one of the first photos I took after I bought the Sigma APO 70-300mm DG lens a few years ago.

This young hare was posing in my garden one morning. Living in a small holiday cottage has its advantage. It makes a great shelter to photograph wildlife from. As long as the wildlife is kind enough to visit the garden of course.
So far only this young hare spent 20 minutes in the garden.

Finally found the time to play around with lightroom 3.
Still need to try out all the new features, but I like my first quick result. Took me less then 10 minutes to create this art impression of a dutch landscape. I really like the effect of the new grain option in lightoom.

What do you think? What is your favourite new option in lightroom?
